What Would It Take To Flip States In The 2016 Election?
Here I am trying to emulate a simulation I found on FiveThirtyEight. It was very impressive the first time I saw it. So I decided to analyze the web page's source code and figure out how it could be done with D3.js. For simulation, I used the data from a table in the original story. It is worth noting that in order to reproduce similar behavior, you will have to make assumptions and adjust the party preference and turnout by states.
Change the settings below to see how shifts in party preference and turnout by different demographic groups would affect the 2016 presidential election. Click on the reset button and it would return to 2012 General Election result.
